Indian Hair Extensions versus Synthetic Alternatives

When it comes to hair, fashion and beauty, knowing that you have the best item on the market ? whether it is the best selling perfume, the latest celebrity hair style or the top dress of the season ? is very important. Feeling confident in yourself is vital and can make you look or feel even better.

When it comes to hair extensions, more and more women are realising that going for the cheap and cheerful synthetic variety is simply no longer an option, especially with affordable, 100% natural human hair extensions now widely available and rightly considered to be far superior to anything manufactured.
Still not convinced though that you should ditch the synthetic extensions and upgrade to real human hair? Maybe you?ll change your mind after the best Indian hair extensions are compared next to the all too obvious synthetic alternatives.

Natural vs. Unnatural

When wearing hair extensions they should feel totally natural. After all, you?ll be wearing them all day and you?ll want to be as comfortable as possible. So what?s the answer? Buying some real human hair extensions of course! Perhaps the most sought after real hair at the moment is Indian hair. It is very versatile and can be treated just like real hair ? because it is just that. Curl it, straighten it, wash it, dye it or do what you want with it.
Alternatively you could invest in some synthetic hair. This is not real hair, merely a material that mimics it and as a result it will feel totally different to your existing hair. What?s more, you will not be able to colour or treat it, as it will not respond to real human hair treatments.

Long vs Short Lasting

One of the key reasons why Indian Hair Extensions are extremely popular is because they are fantastic value for money. A clip in Indian hair extension will last for a long, long time if you treat it right. Wash it as you would normal hair and you should expect it to look great for months and years to come.

Compare this to the synthetic, artificial varieties which are nowhere near as durable. They must be kept away from blow dryers and straightening irons; in fact, what?s the point of paying out for them if you cannot treat them as you would your normal hair? All it takes is to forget to take them out and blow drying your hair for them to be ruined and thrown out. What a waste of money that would be.

Remember, many years ago it was the case that synthetic hair was the only affordable option for ordinary women to get the hair of their favourite celebrities. But not anymore. 100% virgin REMY Indian hair extensions are considered to be the best quality extensions on the market and are available at affordable prices from specialist hair extension suppliers. Do not settle for fake synthetic hair, just do some research and source the highest grade human hair at roughly the same price but for much better results.

Hair Extensions for Teenagers

Teenage girls love to experiment with their looks ? and why not? It?s fun to follow all the latest fads and fashions and swap style ideas with friends. It?s only by trying out new clothes, make-up and hairdos that a young girl learns what suits her and begins to develop her own sense of style. She will also discover what doesn?t work, and that?s why hair extensions are such a good idea for teenagers.

Choosing the wrong shade of lip gloss is annoying but soon forgotten, but making a mistake about changing your hairstyle can take weeks or even months to put right. For a teenager who always wants to look her best this can be devastating and a huge blow to her self-confidence. Clip on hair extensions give the freedom to try out all sorts of hairstyles, both weird and wonderful, without permanently altering the current style.

A safe alternative
Curling, straightening and colouring can all damage your hair, especially if you style it yourself at home rather than going to a professional salon. Teenagers who want a different look every week can easily overdo the styling and end up with dry, brittle hair that no amount of lotions and potions can disguise. Testing a new colour, or practising new styling techniques on a natural hair extension eliminates the risk of ruining a teen?s own hair.

The best of both worlds
Most teenagers lead double lives: everyday school life where an easy to manage hairstyle is the best choice, and the world of weekends and holidays where they want to let their hair down, or sweep it up, curl it, straighten it, or colour it bright blue! If they have hair extensions they can instantly double or triple the length of their natural hair, increase the volume, and add a variety of colours. Extensions allow them to copy the hairstyles of their favourite celebrities, or create their own unique styles, without a Monday morning panic about how to revert to their ?normal? style.

Choosing the right hair extensions
There are lots of cheap synthetic hair extensions on the market but they look obviously false and rarely last very long. For the best results, always use top quality 100% virgin human hair for extensions that look and feel completely natural. They can be repeatedly washed and styled without losing condition and come in a full range of natural shades from lightest blonde to black. A teenager can choose hair extensions that perfectly match her own hair colour or to add highlights and streaks, either subtle or eye-catching!

If you know a teenager who changes her mind as often as she?d like to change her looks, a set of real hair extensions is an accessory she?ll love for a very long time.

Wigs and Hair Extensions Down the Ages

These days, you only have to watch the TV ads to see that long flowing tresses are the favourite way to wear your hair, hence the popularity of hair extensions.  It hasn’t always been so, however. The fashion for long hairstyles has waxed and waned, along with the need for additional hair.

The 20th Century

A century ago, when women’s hair was known as their crowning glory, it was usually worn up, often in complicated and big styles using a pompadour frame that included additional wavy hair.  Women bought hair pieces to fill up empty spaces around their heads.  It must have been quite tiring to hold up their heads weighed down with heavy hair and frames.

In the roaring twenties of the twentieth century, a few daring young ladies cut their hair short.  Soon all fashionable women were having their hair cropped shorter and shorter to go with their shortening skirts, boyish silhouettes and cloche hats.

When the fashion for womanly curves returned in the 1930s, so did longer wavy hair.  Medium length hair became the norm.  Backcombed, bouffant up-styles, sometimes assisted by false hair pieces became big in the 60s, until the advent of more natural looking, flowing locks and the bouncing flicked styles of the late 70s.

Earlier Hair Fashions

Watch any historical film, where the movie-makers have tried to get the fashions of the period correct, and you’ll see mostly long hair in the styles of the day. They might be the exaggerated, complicated up-dos of the 1770s, or the close curls that went with Empire line dresses.  Many of them would not be all the wearers’ natural hair at the time.  They might be complete wigs or just supplemented by hair pieces and extensions.

Very Early Use of Wigs and False Hair

As far back as the fourth century BC, the ancient Egyptian pharaohs and well to do people are known to have worn wigs. Sometimes they shaved their heads, but always wore hair in public.  Ancient Greek and Roman upper class women frequently enhanced their natural long hair with hair extensions and wigs.

Wear your wig or hair extensions with pride and remember the connection they give you with women throughout history.

Follow the Famous With Hair Extensions

Many women would love to have the look of their favourite celebrities.  Copying their hair styles is a way to get closer to this.  Most singers and film stars favour the long tresses that can be achieved with hair extensions.  They can then ring the changes of hair up and hair down, hair wavy, curly or straight.

Angelina Jolie

Following the New York premier of the film Tourist in December, the half up, half down look worn by Angelina was copied around the world. The star has always been seen with long hair either worn long and flowing or high on her head.  On this occasion, leaving some soft fronds to frame her beautiful face, she pinned the top strands back and up, with the rest left to fall down her back.

Cheryl Cole

Cheryl’s big, bouncy hair indicates that she is a big fan of extensions. Last October the public watched spellbound as she performed Promise This on the X-Factor wearing ultra-long extensions in a two colour version.  Most of her hair was in her gorgeous flagship burgundy, mixed with a few strands of black.

Be in Good Company

Katie Price has been known to go horse riding without a hard hat.  Was she using the occasion to show off the beautiful and bountiful curly black hair extensions bouncing to the motion of her steed? Halle Berry first burst onto our screens as a perfect Bond girl with a tiny curly cap.  Times have changed and we now often see her with long, lustrous extensions. Victoria Beckham rings the changes with hair extensions for length and highlights regularly. Up and coming Arabian actress, Ghada Adel is reported to have flown to London last November specifically to transform her short bob into a long curly style.

Your hair extensions put you in good company, and let you copy the styles of the rich and famous.  You could be a different celebrity every day of the week.
